Bear number 5. Capturing the essence of the bear;

Okay, bear 5. This one was just a fun one for me. I wanted to portray the intensity of the bear; having actually locked eyes with a bear in the wild i know and want to convey how intimidating they truly care, BUT I also want to portray that we are only ever looking at from a human perspective. To a baby bear, this face is his world. To other wildlife a sign to make space and be scarce. We only have negative interactions with this creature when we tread into their home. Then we regard them as a cold killer, even though with the ratio of hikers out there in the world, there would be a lot more tragedies were these animals truly the villains they can sometimes be portrayed as. So this painting was a mix of the fun and freedom I also see in the bear, the humour and the joy, and that bears love to watch the sunset. That the love their children, they love to play. They enjoy a nap in a field. And l love them dearly.

I had a beautiful vision of creating a gorgeous, stand out scarf art piece, that was a subtle nod to the bear, and then an extension of the original artwork. In creating the 148 bears project I want to create change and impact for bears, and each piece contains pieces of that joy and excitement and pure love for wildlife. So these pieces are a reflection of all of that, with a subtle capture of the original.

I never compromise with my art production, and my silk habotai scarves are a reflection of that! This 100% pure silk habotai scarf captures the true colors and concepts portrayed in my artwork. Each scarf is finished with a machine rolled baby hem for long lasting durability and an air of delicacy. The reactive inks mean your scarf colors will always remain as vibrant as the day you buy it.

Please note, to keep each piece as unique and original as the work behind it, there are only 500 of each scarf available.
